confessions of a starving student

so i realize that most of my posts revolve around food... but guess what, i am obsessed with food. here's whats on my mind:

i pay a buttload of money each month to have full access to our cafeteria, a.k.a. "the cannon center." they have some pretty dumb rules and hours... like on saturdays and sundays, they close at six. OKAY. so if i have church and other meetings from 10:30-2:30, i go at three for a late lunch, and then what? i wont be hungry again by 6. also, they have this rule that you cant take any food out of the room with you. they even have cubbies and lockers to lock your purse in before you enter the cafeteria part. now, to me this seems like a pretty stupid concept. i pay to eat there... i should have the right to snag a little something for later. especially since i dont have a kitchen.

ANYWAY, to make a long story short, katherine and i totally swiped some chicken cordon bleu this sunday. its hands down the best meal the cannon center makes. delicious. i could eat 3 or 4. maybe i have. hahhaha. but it is such a rare delicacy because the menu rarely repeats itself (which i guess i should appreciate), that we decided to take full advantage of the cannon center and make sure none of the deliciousness went to waste.

yum. look at that. i wish i could explain how good it is. and they serve it with these seasoned potatoes.. mmm. it was so easy. we should have stolen more than one each. hahahha. "steal" sounds so bad.. i didnt steal it! i paid for it!

the whole experience made me laugh. acting like secret agents as we held our napkin covered chicken. so hopefully you will enjoy it as well.

this picture makes me so happy. see that green patch of grass? its a sign. the sign i've been waiting for.

the past four months i have been layering myself in sweaters and coats and on special occasions i wear 4 pairs of socks. but a couple days ago, katherine and i were walking past this patch and i came to an immediate halt. "DO YOU SEE THAT?!"

she most definitely thought i was retarded. but it made me super happy haha. it means that pretty soon, snow and cold will be out of everyones minds and i can wear all of my short sleeve shirts again. im sick of wearing the same 4 coats every day.

on another good note, saturday will be the halfway mark of second semester. exactly two months until i move back home to vegas for a couple months :) can't wait.

p.s. for lent i decided to give up talking about other people. due to a few frustrating experiences in the past couple of weeks i've decided that everyone in this world should mind their own damn business. so now its my turn :)

IT'S FEBRUARY?!

i am still in shock. this morning i took my computer into the bookstore for a little repair (long story) and the man made me sign some papers... JEEZE. i put 1/28/09. what is wrong with me? every single number in that date is wrong. WRONG. ahahahaha. first of all, i can't believe its february. second of all, i am still having a hard time getting used to the fact that we live in 2010!

but this morning it hit me. like "hey, ashley! its february!" or something along those lines.

here are some direct results of today being the start of february.

1. next month is my last full month in provo! (till september) can you say hollllaaa?

2. i go home this weekend! i miss my family

3. it is angeleah bertoldo's birthday tomorrow! i love this woman. holy hell i just realized... 20!? what the...

4. eddy leaves next month. whaaaaaaaaat!

5. valentines day is this month... stupidest day of the year

BUT

6. my family might come up because its a three day weekend!

7. its the shortest month of the year

8. does this mean spring is close? because.. uh.. im kinda sick of this crap.

9. midterms are coming :( soon. like real soon.

10. only 3.5 years of college left! proud? you should be.

anyway. i hope you all have a wonderful february. its almost kind of starting to get warm.. next thing you know i will be basking out by the pool every day. mmm mmm mm.
